DFS: Week 10 AFC Target Tracker

Jason Bridge / USA TODAY Sports

Here's a team-by-team look at the most targeted players in the AFC through Week 9 (click here for NFC targets):

Baltimore Ravens

NAME WEEK 9 TOTAL AVG
Steve Smith Sr. 0 (BYE) 70 10
Kamar Aiken 0 (BYE) 53 6.6
Justin Forsett 0 (BYE) 37 4.6
Crockett Gillmore 0 (BYE) 30 3.8
Marlon Brown 0 (BYE) 29 3.6

The Ravens return from the bye to play Jacksonville. With Smith Sr. out, every other option will see an increased role but DFS players should only employ a Ravens receiver in a GPP. The consistency simply is not there.

Buffalo Bills

NAME WEEK 9 TOTAL AVG
Charles Clay 1 51 6.37
Robert Woods 1 37 4.62
Percy Harvin 0 (inactive) 30 6
Chris Hogan 0 29 4.14
Sammy Watkins 8 26 5.2

Tyrod Taylor completed 11 of 12 passes in Week 9; aside from Watkins, none of the Bills receivers were that useful. Going forward, Watkins should continue to be the No. 1 option and looks to be suitable for cash and GPP games.

Cincinnati Bengals

NAME WEEK 9 TOTAL AVG
A.J. Green 6 73 9.12
Tyler Eifert 6 54 6.75
Marvin Jones 6 49 6.12
Mohamed Sanu 3 30 3.75
Giovani Bernard 1 27 3.37

The Bengals continue to fire on all cylinders and spread their offensive production among receivers, tight ends, and running backs. Green and Eifert are the top options but Jones and Sanu do just enough to limit their ceilings on a weekly basis.

Cleveland Browns

NAME WEEK 9 TOTAL AVG
Travis Benjamin 6 71 7.88
Gary Barnidge 7 66 7.33
Taylor Gabriel 6 39 4.33
Andrew Hawkins 0 (inactive) 38 4.75
Brian Hartline 0 (inactive) 35 4.37

The options in Cleveland will depend on who plays quarterback. For entertainment purposes, most will want to see Johnny Manziel but Josh McCown seems to bring more consistent production. With Manziel under center, Barnidge only caught two passes for 35 yards in Week 9.

Denver Broncos

NAME WEEK 9 TOTAL AVG
Demaryius Thomas 7 93 11.6
Emmanuel Sanders 11 81 10.12
Owen Daniels 9 41 5.12
Vernon Davis 1 31 3.44
C.J. Anderson 2 20 2.5

Despite the arrival of Vernon Davis, tight end Daniels had his best game of the season - going for 102 yards and a touchdown. Ultimately, Thomas and Sanders are the best options in Denver and are fantastic cash game plays.

Houston Texans

NAME WEEK 9 TOTAL AVG
DeAndre Hopkins 0 (BYE) 112 14
Nate Washington 0 (BYE) 59 9.83
Cecil Shorts III 0 (BYE) 45 9
Keith Mumphrey 0 (BYE) 29 3.62
Arian Foster 0 (BYE) 28 4

Houston visits Cincinnati in Week 10, where Hopkins should continue to see a heavy amount of targets. Aside from Hopkins, Shorts is expected to return this week - making both he and Washington possible GPP plays.

Indianapolis Colts

NAME WEEK 9 TOTAL AVG
T.Y. Hilton 6 87 9.66
Donte Moncrief 4 66 7.33
Coby Fleener 6 50 5.55
Andre Johnson 3 48 5.33
Phillip Dorsett 0 (inactive) 23 3.28

With Andrew Luck sidelined, Matt Hasselbeck will get the call at QB for the next 4-6 weeks. Though the Colts are on a bye in Week 10, DFS owners should look at Hilton and Moncrief as contrarian plays in Week 11.

Jacksonville Jaguars

NAME WEEK 9 TOTAL AVG
Allen Robinson 11 80 10
Allen Hurns 8 59 7.378
Bryan Walters 7 32 4
Julius Thomas 8 28 7
T.J. Yeldon 3 26 3.71

Robinson and Hurns have been fantastic all season and are fit for both cash and GPP games. Either one could go for 100+ yards any week and both see red zone targets. Thomas' presence in the offense is still unestablished but he could make for a contrarian play in GPP's going forward.

Kansas City Chiefs

NAME WEEK 9 TOTAL AVG
Jeremy Maclin 0 (BYE) 62 8.85
Travis Kelce 0 (BYE) 55 6.87
Jamaal Charles 0 (BYE) 30 6
Chris Conley 0 (BYE) 26 3.25
Albert Wilson 0 (BYE) 23 3.83

DFS players should avoid the Chiefs' passing offense in Week 10 as they head to Denver to take on the Broncos. Maclin and Kelce are feasible cash game options but their ceilings are limited against Denver's defense.

Miami Dolphins

NAME WEEK 9 TOTAL AVG
Jarvis Landry 13 67 8.37
Rishard Matthews 4 51 6.37
Jordan Cameron 1 44 5.5
Kenny Stills 5 32 4
Greg Jennings 2 25 3.12

Landry saw double digit targets in Week 9 for the first time in three games. He is a great cash game option based on his average targets. However, the rest of the Dolphins' pass catchers are strong fade candidates.

New England Patriots

NAME WEEK 9 TOTAL AVG
Juilan Edelman 8 83 10.37
Rob Gronkowski 5 68 8.5
Dion Lewis 5 50 7.14
Danny Amendola 5 37 4.62
Brandon LaFell 9 24 8

With Lewis gone for the season, Edelman and Gronkowski could see increased action. However, this is the Patriots and is it not unreasonable for an unknown player to become a second-half star.

New York Jets

NAME WEEK 9 TOTAL AVG
Brandon Marshall 8 84 10.5
Eric Decker 9 54 7.71
Bilal Powell 0 (inactive) 19 3.8
Chris Owusu 0 (inactive) 13 4.33
Jeff Cumberland 3 13 3.25

Marshall and Decker are the only options in New York as the Jets predominately run two-receiver sets. They are great cash game options but their appeal in GPPs is quite limited.

Oakland Raiders

NAME WEEK 9 TOTAL AVG
Michael Crabtree 12 80 10
Amari Cooper 13 72 9
Latavius Murray 2 25 3.12
Mychal Rivera 3 20 2.5
Andre Holmes 2 13 1.44

Crabtree and Cooper are another strong receiving duo option for DFS players to target. Their average targets make them cash options, while their ability to go for 100+ yards makes them GPP options.

Pittsburgh Steelers

NAME WEEK 9 TOTAL AVG
Antonio Brown 23 100 11.11
Heath Miller 6 43 4.77
Darrius Heyward-Bey 2 32 3.55
Martavis Bryant 7 32 8
Markus Wheaton 4 30 3.33

Brown had a historic Week 9 but once again the health of Ben Roethlisberger is an issue. However, Brown remains a strong cash game option regardless of who is under center. On the other hand, Bryant is best fit for GPPs.

San Diego Chargers

NAME WEEK 9 TOTAL AVG
Keenan Allen 0 (inactive) 89 11.12
Danny Woodhead 10 60 6.66
Stevie Johnson 10 47 6.71
Antonio Gates 11 43 10.75
Ladarius Green 0 (inactive) 37 5.28

With Allen and Malcom Floyd out, Woodhead, Johnson, and Gates should see even greater usage. The injuries make all three consistent enough options for cash games and GPPs.

Tennessee Titans

NAME WEEK 9 TOTAL AVG
Delanie Walker 8 52 7.42
Kendall Wright 0 (inactive) 46 6.57
Dexter McCluster 4 29 3.22
Harry Douglas 5 28 4.66
Justin Hunter 4 27 3.37

Walker had a fantastic Week 9 and continues to see a healthy amount of targets. He is a good value play in either DFS format. Aside from Walker, DFS players should only select a Titans receiver in GPP formats. But keep in mind, Marcus Mariota will not throw for 300+ yards and four TDs every week.
