#RoarBacon: Blues turn typo into rallying cry

The St. Louis Blues have turned a social media gaffe into an internet sensation.

The Blues rallied from a three-goal deficit and Vladimir Tarasenko's overtime goal stunned the Chicago Blackhawks 6-5 in overtime Wednesday night, but the true highlight of the game came courtesy of their social media team.

Note the caption in their Instagram post from the second intermission:

Well that was something. #OurBlues roar bacon with three second-period goals to tie the game 5-5. #STLvsCHI

The Blues could have deleted it and apologized for the typo, but they embraced it.

They continued to use the hashtag on Twitter, and it took off.

Even the local and national media got involved.

It was a hit in St. Louis.

Predictably, it spawned a Twitter account, as well as custom T-shirts.

And, of course, out came the memes.

The moral of the story: Everybody makes mistakes, and sometimes, if you embrace them, they become trending topics.
