The Kansas City Royals staged another come-from-behind victory in Game 4, giving a heavy-hearted Edinson Volquez an opportunity to lift his team to World Series glory in Game 5 on Sunday night.

Volquez, who tossed six strong innings in the series opener before learning of his father's death in the Dominican Republic, rejoined the club in time for Saturday's contest, and confirmed he'll start the next game of the Fall Classic.

"I'm pretty sure my dad is going to be proud of me when I pitch tomorrow," a grieving Volquez said. "He was everything for me. He was one of the greatest men. I remember he bought me my first glove and my first spikes, brought me to the field. He knew that's what I want to be, I want to be a baseball player. And he gave me a lot of support and he buy everything for me. He put me in the right way."

The veteran right-hander plans to inscribe his father's initials inside his hat and glove before taking the mound for the potential series clincher, and he's fully supported by his coaches and teammates.

"I told them I was going to be ready to play, if they need me," Volquez added. "And when I got here today Ned (Yost) told me that, 'Hey, are you able to pitch?' I said, 'Yeah, that's why I'm here. I want to pitch. I want to make people proud."'

Volquez, who will oppose New York Mets righty Matt Harvey, is 1-2 with a 4.37 ERA and 1.28 WHIP in four postseason starts.

The Royals lead the best-of-seven series 3-1.
