Juan Uribe has been to the big dance before. On Friday, he delivered for the New York Mets in his third trip to the World Series.

The 36-year-old infielder had his first at-bat since Sept. 25 in the sixth inning, pinch hitting for pitcher Noah Syndergaard, and hammered a single into right field to record his first RBI since Sept. 18.

Uribe had missed the entire postseason due to a chest injury, but was added to the World Series roster to give manager Terry Collins some extra pop off the bench.

"Big contribution from him," Collins said. "He's such a good guy to have on your club and be in the clubhouse, it's nice that he had a chance to contribute."

The veteran hit .219/.301/.430 with six home runs and 20 RBIs for the Mets in the regular season after coming over from the Atlanta Braves in a July trade.

"When he steps on the field, whether it be for defense or offense, you know that this guy has had so many at-bats, so many innings underneath his belt, that the chances of him succeeding are higher than it is for anyone else coming in to that same situation," outfielder Curtis Granderson said of Uribe following the game.

"He's that type of guy and it's great that we get a chance to have him with us. He's done some amazing things with the teams he's played for in the past and now he's doing it again with us."
