Ducks GM on slow start: 'I'm not inclined to make rash changes'

Anaheim Ducks general manager Bob Murray isn't going to make any snap judgements on head coach Bruce Boudreau or his staff despite the team's poor start.

"I really don’t like commenting on rumors, but I will say this: We were one game away from the (Stanley Cup) Final just five months ago," Murray said in a statement Friday.

"So while this has been a terrible start, I’m not inclined to make rash changes. I’m going to be patient. That said, we are severely underperforming as a group. I can’t recall a time where a vast majority of our players have underachieved simultaneously, and I fully expect a turnaround."

The Ducks are 1-7-2, and only the Calgary Flames (-20) and the Columbus Blue Jackets (-19) have a worse goal differential than Anaheim (-17). The Ducks have scored only 10 goals in the first 10 games, and they're the only team in the NHL that hasn't won on the road (0-5-1).

Anaheim has lost five games in a row after earning its first win - a 4-1 victory over the Minnesota Wild - on Oct. 18.
