Former Georgia Tech and Washington Wizards swingman Glen Rice Jr. was shot in the leg outside rapper T.I.'s restaurant on Sunday, according to a police report relayed by the Atlanta Journal Constitutional, and later charged with reckless conduct and marijuana possession.

A physical altercation broke out between five to six individuals at the Scales 925 restaurant, according to police. After they were asked to leave the premises, the fight spilled out into the parking lot before a gun was fired.

Rice was shot in the leg, which is shown in the restaurant's video footage. Rice then fled the scene on foot and tossed a black revolver into a nearby stairwell before climbing into a black Porsche, according to the footage.

Rice and the car's driver were stopped shortly thereafter by several police units working nearby. Officers escorted Rice to hospital.

Police subsequently searched the Porsche, which turned up a bag containing 240 grams of marijuana and a U.S. passport belonging to Rice. The 24-year-old was charged with reckless conduct and possession of marijuana. Officers also recovered the gun from the stairwell, which may be stolen from Tennessee.

Rice latched on with the Wizards as the 35th pick in the 2013 draft. He played sparingly over the past two seasons, appearing in just 16 games, but showed flashes of promise as he captured 2014 Summer League MVP honors. He was waived in early January last season.

Rice is the son of Glen Rice Sr., a three-time All-Star and a one-time champion with the Los Angeles Lakers, who retired following the 2003-04 season.

The investigation is ongoing.
