DFS: Week 8 AFC Target Tracker
Here's a team-by-team look at the most targeted players in the AFC through Week 7 (click here for NFC targets):
NAME | WEEK 7 | TOTAL | AVG |
---|---|---|---|
Steve Smith Sr. | 9 | 63 | 10.5 |
Kamar Aiken | 3 | 47 | 6.71 |
Justin Forsett | 4 | 36 | 5.14 |
Marlon Brown | 5 | 28 | 7 |
Crockett Gillmore | 7 | 26 | 6.75 |
The Baltimore passing offense does a good job of spreading the ball around and Forsett's ability to catch limits the upside of the receiving group. DFS players should probably look elsewhere as neither Smith, Aiken, or Gillmore provide a steady floor or high ceiling.
NAME | WEEK 7 | TOTAL | AVG |
---|---|---|---|
Charles Clay | 5 | 50 | 7.14 |
Robert Woods | 13 | 36 | 5.14 |
Percy Harvin | 0 (inactive) | 30 | 6 |
Chris Hogan | 11 | 29 | 4.14 |
Sammy Watkins | 0 (inactive) | 18 | 4.5 |
Tyrod Taylor will hopefully be back in Week 8 but the health of Harvin and Watkins are significant issues. Fill-in receivers Woods and Hogan are legitimate options for GPP play in the meantime.
NAME | WEEK 7 | TOTAL | AVG |
---|---|---|---|
A.J. Green | 0 (BYE) | 50 | 8.3 |
Tyler Eifert | 0 (BYE) | 40 | 6.66 |
Marvin Jones | 0 (BYE) | 38 | 6.33 |
Mohamed Sanu | 0 (BYE) | 24 | 4 |
Giovani Bernard | 0 (BYE) | 23 | 3.83 |
The Bengals take on Pittsburgh in a divisional matchup in Week 8. Green, Eifert, and Jones are the only real receiving options here.
NAME | WEEK 7 | TOTAL | AVG |
---|---|---|---|
Travis Benjamin | 8 | 60 | 8.5 |
Gary Barnidge | 7 | 48 | 6.85 |
Andrew Hawkins | 3 | 35 | 5 |
Taylor Gabriel | 4 | 26 | 3.71 |
Brian Hartline | 3 | 25 | 3.57 |
Barnidge continues to be a strong option at tight end. Quarterback Josh McCown is expected to start despite suffering a shoulder injury in Week 7. Barnidge is an option in all DFS formats while Benjamin is limited to GPP games.
NAME | WEEK 7 | TOTAL | AVG |
---|---|---|---|
Demaryius Thomas | 0 (BYE) | 75 | 12.5 |
Emmanuel Sanders | 0 (BYE) | 65 | 10.83 |
Owen Daniels | 0 (BYE) | 29 | 4.83 |
Jordan Norwood | 0 (BYE) | 18 | 3 |
C.J. Anderson | 0 (BYE) | 17 | 2.83 |
As per usual, Thomas and Sanders are the only options here. Both are fit for cash games or GPPs because of their guaranteed production. The Broncos have a Week 8 showdown with Green Bay, which has a solid pass defense.
NAME | WEEK 7 | TOTAL | AVG |
---|---|---|---|
DeAndre Hopkins | 12 | 101 | 14.4 |
Nate Washington | 16 | 53 | 10.6 |
Cecil Shorts III | 0 (inactive) | 45 | 9 |
Arian Foster | 3 | 27 | 4 |
Keith Mumphrey | 3 | 27 | 3.85 |
An embarrassing loss in Miami shouldn't deter DFS players from considering the Texans' receiving options. Hopkins continues to be a top wideout and Washington provides an intriguing play in GPPs.
NAME | WEEK 7 | TOTAL | AVG |
---|---|---|---|
T.Y. Hilton | 15 | 74 | 10.5 |
Donte Moncrief | 6 | 55 | 7.85 |
Andre Johnson | 6 | 37 | 5.28 |
Phillip Dorsett | 3 | 23 | 3.28 |
The skill of Andrew Luck - interceptions aside - makes both HIlton and Moncrief viable DFS options. Hilton put up 150 yards and two TDs with 15 targets and Moncrief snagged a late TD to save his fantasy value in Week 7.
NAME | WEEK 7 | TOTAL | AVG |
---|---|---|---|
Allen Robinson | 9 | 69 | 9.85 |
Allen Hurns | 8 | 51 | 7.28 |
Bryan Walters | 1 | 25 | 3.57 |
T.J. Yeldon | 3 | 23 | 3.83 |
Julius Thomas | 5 | 20 | 6.66 |
Robinson and Hurns both had TDs in Week 7 as Jacksonville continues to be a legitimate option for fantasy players. The Jags are on a bye for Week 8.
NAME | WEEK 7 | TOTAL | AVG |
---|---|---|---|
Jeremy Maclin | 0 (inactive) | 57 | 9.5 |
Travis Kelce | 6 | 47 | 6.71 |
Jamaal Charles | 0 (inactive) | 30 | 6 |
Chris Conley | 7 | 25 | 3.57 |
Albert Wilson | 6 | 19 | 3.8 |
The Kansas City offense is difficult to trust for all fantasy players at this point. The Chiefs host the Lions next week, a decent matchup if DFS players wish to trust Alex Smith.
NAME | WEEK 7 | TOTAL | AVG |
---|---|---|---|
Jarvis Landry | 5 | 46 | 7.66 |
Jordan Cameron | 2 | 38 | 6.33 |
Rishard Matthews | 3 | 35 | 5.833 |
Greg Jennings | 2 | 21 | 3.5 |
Kenny Stills | 2 | 20 | 3.33 |
Landry has had five targets in back-to-back weeks but was extremely productive in Week 7, totalling 83 yards and two touchdowns. However, DFS players should think about fading the Dolphins with a Thursday night game against the Patriots looming.
NAME | WEEK 7 | TOTAL | AVG |
---|---|---|---|
Juilan Edelman | 9 | 66 | 11 |
Rob Gronkowski | 16 | 54 | 9 |
Dion Lewis | 0 (inactive) | 36 | 7.2 |
Danny Amendola | 9 | 31 | 5.166 |
Gronk had a great game, racking up 16 targets leading the Pats to a Week 7 win. DFS players can feel comfortable rostering Edelman and Gronk in cash games and Lewis in GPP formats.
NAME | WEEK 7 | TOTAL | AVG |
---|---|---|---|
Brandon Marshall | 7 | 60 | 10 |
Eric Decker | 12 | 38 | 7.6 |
Bilal Powell | 1 | 19 | 3.8 |
Chris Owusu | 4 | 13 | 4.33 |
Decker and Marshall are the only two passing options in New York and continue to be solid cash game plays. However, neither seem like great GPP options as the Jets are more efficient than explosive.
NAME | WEEK 7 | TOTAL | AVG |
---|---|---|---|
Michael Crabtree | 8 | 56 | 9.33 |
Amari Cooper | 6 | 50 | 8.33 |
Latavius Murray | 1 | 21 | 3.5 |
Mychal Rivera | 3 | 17 | 2.83 |
The Carr-to-Cooper combo was in full effect last week and is a legitimate weekly GPP combo going forward. The Raiders host the Jets in Week 8 making Crabtree an appealing GPP option; Cooper be shadowed by Darrelle Revis.
NAME | WEEK 7 | TOTAL | AVG |
---|---|---|---|
Antonio Brown | 8 | 66 | 9.42 |
Darrius Heyward-Bey | 1 | 28 | 4 |
Heath Miller | 2 | 24 | 3.42 |
Markus Wheaton | 4 | 24 | 3.42 |
Martavis Bryant | 8 | 16 | 8 |
With Ben Roethisberger likely to return, the Steelers receiving group will be especially appealing in DFS. Brown is a cash game must-roster, while Bryant is a great option in GPPs.
NAME | WEEK 7 | TOTAL | AVG |
---|---|---|---|
Keenan Allen | 13 | 84 | 12 |
Danny Woodhead | 12 | 47 | 6.71 |
Ladarius Green | 9 | 36 | 6 |
Antonio Gates | 0 (inactive) | 27 | 13.5 |
Stevie Johnson | 8 | 33 | 6.6 |
Gates was inactive in Week 7, leading to another productive week for Green at the tight end spot. Woodhead's 12 targets are inflated due to the Chargers playing catch up in garbage time. Ultimately, Allen and Gates are the best options here.
NAME | WEEK 7 | TOTAL | AVG |
---|---|---|---|
Kendall Wright | 8 | 39 | 6.5 |
Delanie Walker | 9 | 38 | 6.33 |
Harry Douglas | 0 (inactive) | 23 | 4.6 |
Justin Hunter | 4 | 20 | 3.33 |
Dorial Green-Beckham | 1 | 12 | 2 |
As stated in previous weeks, the Tennessee receiving group is not an option in fantasy right now. Whether it is Marcus Mariota or Zach Mettenberger at QB in Week 8, DFS players should stay away.
