Ranieri delivers pizza to Leicester City players after 1st clean sheet

Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri has delivered on a promise - quite literally.

Last month, Ranieri challenged his squad to keep a clean sheet in the Premier League. On Saturday, after a 1-0 win over Crystal Palace, his players finally did.

In-form striker Jamie Vardy scored his 10th goal of the season to confirm the victory, but an improvement in defence guaranteed pizza for him and his teammates.

So Ranieri put in the order, with pepperoni and black olives the apparent toppings of choice.

Vardy may have enjoyed a bigger piece of the pie for his exploits as the first Premier League player to score in the double digits this season.

"I am pleased for Jamie Vardy," said Ranieri after the match. "It is a big achievement for him, for us, the fans - for everybody. Maybe he gets a bigger piece of pizza - one and a half for him."

Earlier in the season, Leicester developed a reputation for making comebacks which involved conceding too many goals, and Ranieri sought to fix that.

Playing with a lead, apparently, has its reward.

Leicester is currently fifth in the table with 19 points from 10 matches.
