DFS: Mystery Men - Wednesday's Top Sleeper Picks

Rick Osentoski / USA TODAY Sports

Here are the top sleeper picks for use in Wednesday's daily fantasy hockey GPPs:

G Petr Mrazek, Red Wings (at Oilers)

Mrazek will receive his third start of the season against Edmonton. So far, Detroit coach Jeff Blashill has been alternating between Howard and Mrazek, and has already named his starting goalies for the next few games.

In his two starts this season, Mrazek has posted a .931 save percentage and a 3.03 goals against average. He picked up a win against Carolina in the Wings' first game of the season despite allowing three goals, then lost to the Montreal Canadiens - again allowing three goals.

For his career, Mrazek is 20-15 with a .931 SV% and 2.27 GAA. During this time, he has faced the Oilers only once - stopping 14 shots for one of his five career shutouts. Mrazek also has 15 of his 20 career wins on the road.

W Brock McGinn, Hurricanes (at Avalanche)

McGinn was called up last week and has been given the opportunity to play on the top line with center Eric Staal and winger Kris Versteeg.

The rookie forward was the Hurricanes' second-round pick in 2012 and spent time in the AHL with the Charlotte Checkers last year. His most notable season came in 2012-13 with Guelph, where he had 85 points in 58 games.

McGinn only has two games of NHL experience but he did have a goal and assist in his NHL debut five days ago. McGinn's top-line position has allotted him 14 minutes of average ice time but unfortunately no power play time.

He comes near rock-bottom on most DFS sites and is guaranteed to have an extremely low ownership percentage.

C John Mitchell, Avalanche (vs. Hurricanes)

Mitchell, a fourth-liner in Colorado, has been earning coach Patrick Roy's praises and is tied with Gabriel Landeskog for the team lead with four goals.

Mitchell scored a goal in each of the Avs' first four games before finally being held off the scoresheet against the Kings on Sunday. In his past three seasons, Mitchell has barely registered double-digit goals three times in his career, so he is by no means an offensive powerhouse - but his current hot streak makes him an interesting flier.

Though Mitchell is a fourth liner, he has found himself working on the penalty kill and on a power-play unit alongside Matt Duchene. With these roles, Mitchell averages 13 minutes a game - giving him a decent opportunity to be productive.

Mitchell comes extremely cheap in DFS and has a plus matchup against the struggling Cam Ward, who sports a 3.36 goals against average and .867 save percentage.

D Ryan Murphy, Hurricanes (vs. Avalanche)

Murphy is beginning his third full season in the NHL with Carolina after being selected 12th overall in 2011. In 89 total games, he has 25 points.

With James Wisnewski out this year with an ACL tear, the Hurricanes healthy D-men will be provided extra ice time. Murphy has already seen a slight uptick going from 18 to 19 minutes through five games and time on the second power-play unit - always a bonus for DFS players.

Murphy only has one assist in five games, but his cheap DFS price and fruitful opportunity scream value. The Avalanche have given up 16 goals in five games.
