Lakers waive Upshaw, Frazier II
The Los Angeles Lakers have waived center Robert Upshaw and guard Michael Frazier II, the team announced on Tuesday.
Upshaw - a 7-foot defensive stalwart - signed a multi-year contract with the Lakers in September after going undrafted in June.
He averaged 2.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 0.7 blocks in 14.1 minutes through four preseason games.
A Florida product, Frazier II also went undrafted this summer, signing a partially-guaranteed deal with the Lakers in August.
He appeared in four exhibition games, averaging 2.0 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 0.8 assists in 13.5 minutes.
This isn't necessarily the end of the road with the Lakers franchise for the pair of NBA hopefuls as they may still join the team's D-League affiliate.
The Lakers' roster now stands at 17 players.
