Kansas City Royals outfielder Lorenzo Cain has been on a mission this postseason.

With his first inning single off Toronto Blue Jays starter Marcus Stroman during Game 3 of the ALCS on Monday, Cain set a franchise record by recording a hit in 12-straight playoff games, dating back to last year.

Cain hammered a 94-mph fastball up the middle that was cut off by Troy Tulowitzki, but the shortstop wasn't able to even attempt a throw as the speedster ran safely into first.

Entering Game 3, Cain was 7-for-27 with one home run and six RBIs through seven games.
