DFS: Week 7 Quarterback Value Rankings
Here are theScore's quarterback value rankings for Week 7 (Thursday night and Sunday morning games excluded):
Value Rankings
QB | RB | WR | TE
Top 3
# | NAME | OPPONENT | RISK |
---|---|---|---|
1 | Carson Palmer (ARI) | vs. BAL | Low |
2 | Philip Rivers (SD) | vs. OAK | Low |
3 | Andrew Luck (IND) | vs. NO | Low |
Palmer has been one of the most consistent QB options in football - and should roll over a Ravens pass defense that has been torched for an average of 286 yards per game through the air. Rivers looks to follow up his 500-yard passing performance in a plus matchup with the visiting Raiders, while Luck is a great bet to continue his renaissance at home against the Saints.

Next 3
# | NAME | OPPONENT | RISK |
---|---|---|---|
4 | Cam Newton (CAR) | vs. PHI | Low |
5 | Eli Manning (NYG) | vs. DAL | Low |
6 | Matt Cassel (DAL) | at NYG | Low |
Fresh off a stunningly efficient performance in Seattle, Newton returns home to face an underwhelming Eagles pass defense. Manning and Cassel go head-to-head in New York, with Manning a terrific higher-end option with a high ceiling; Cassel, on the other hand, is a solid punt option - especially if Dez Bryant returns to action in Week 7.

Best of the Rest
# | NAME | OPPONENT | RISK |
---|---|---|---|
7 | Marcus Mariota (TEN) | vs. ATL | Medium |
8 | Drew Brees (NO) | at IND | Medium |
9 | Tom Brady (NE) | vs. NYJ | Medium |
10 | Matt Ryan (ATL) | at TEN | Medium |
11 | Landry Jones (PIT) | at KC | Medium |
12 | Ryan Tannehill (MIA) | vs. HOU | Medium |
13 | Matthew Stafford (DET) | vs. MIN | Medium |
14 | Derek Carr (OAK) | at SD | Medium |
15 | Ryan Fitzpatrick (NYJ) | at NE | Medium |
Brady might well continue his torrid pace, but the Jets' pass defense is as formidable as they come - and at such an exorbitant price, Brady will be hard-pressed to return value. Jones is a punt play, but has weapons at his disposal and looked good in limited action last week. Fitzpatrick may be a sneaky value play in what could wind up being a fast-paced affair with the Patriots.

Nothing to See Here
# | NAME | OPPONENT | RISK |
---|---|---|---|
16 | Alex Smith (KC) | vs. PIT | High |
17 | Nick Foles (STL) | vs. CLE | High |
18 | Teddy Bridgewater (MIN) | at DET | High |
19 | Jameis Winston (TB) | at WAS | High |
20 | Sam Bradford (PHI) | at CAR | High |
21 | Josh McCown (CLE) | at STL | High |
22 | Brian Hoyer (HOU) | at MIA | High |
23 | Joe Flacco (BAL) | at ARI | High |
24 | Kirk Cousins (WAS) | vs. TB | High |
Amid a mish-mash of bad QBs and good QBs with bad matchups, Smith is the only player worth a look. If Roethlisberger returns, the Steelers should have no trouble moving the ball through the air against a porous Chiefs defense. That will force Smith into catchup mode, padding his stats and giving DFS players some hope of reaching value.
