DFS: Week 7: NFC Target Tracker

Troy Wayrynen / USA TODAY Sports

Here's a team-by-team look at the most targeted players in the NFC through Week 6 (click here for AFC targets):

Arizona Cardinals

NAME WEEK 6 TOTAL AVG
Larry Fitzgerald 10 54 8
John Brown 14 45 7.5
Michael Floyd 8 26 4.33
David Johnson 1 19 3.16
Darren Fells 2 12 2.4

The Cardinals' pass offense continues to fire on all cylinders. Brown turned his 14 targets into 10 catches and 196 yards in Week 6. Arizona takes on Baltimore and its measly pass defense in Week 7.

Atlanta Falcons

NAME WEEK 6 TOTAL AVG
Julio Jones 10 72 12
Devonta Freeman 10 41 6.83
Leonard Hankerson 6 39 6.5
Jacob Tamme 5 25 6.25
Roddy White 4 21 3.5

Freeman is not only the RB1 in Atlanta but seems to be fighting for the WR2 position as well. He is a must-own in PPR DFS formats until he cools down.

Carolina Panthers

NAME WEEK 6 TOTAL AVG
Greg Olsen 11 45 9
Ted Ginn Jr. 4 29 5.8
Devin Funchess 6 18 3.6
Corey Brown 3 13 2.16
Jerricho Cotchery 4 11 2.75

Olsen seems to be the only option here worth DFS consideration as Carolina manages just 201 passing yards per game. The Panthers look to improve to 6-0 with a home date against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Chicago Bears

NAME WEEK 6 TOTAL AVG
Martellus Bennett 11 53 8.83
Eddie Royal 7 33 6.6
Matt Forte 5 32 5.33
Marquess Wilson 4 30 5
Alshon Jeffery 11 22 11

Jeffery and Bennett are the main options in Chicago and should continue to receive the majority of targets. They're both strong DFS options at their respective positions, but not this week - the Bears are on a bye.

Dallas Cowboys

NAME WEEK 6 TOTAL AVG
Jason Witten 0 (BYE) 37 7.4
Terrance Williams 0 (BYE) 33 6.6
Lance Dunbar 0 (BYE) 27 5.4
Cole Beasley 0 (BYE) 13 2.6

Matt Cassel will take over the reigns in Dallas in Week 7 against the New York Giants. Whether that has any actual effect on the productivity of this group is a mystery that DFS players should not try to solve.

Detroit Lions

NAME WEEK 6 TOTAL AVG
Calvin Johnson 9 61 10.6
Golden Tate 9 56 9.33
Lance Moore 6 28 4.66
Eric Ebron 0 (inactive) 23 5.75
Ameer Abdullah 4 21 3.5

The Detroit passing offense finally showed life in Week 6, with Johnson and Tate both catching touchdowns. Tate is an interesting option because of his reduced DFS price and high target volume for a WR2.

Green Bay Packers

NAME WEEK 6 TOTAL AVG
Randall Cobb 5 48 7.83
Richard Rodgers 5 30 5
James Jones 5 29 4.83
Ty Montgomery 2 19 3.8
Davante Adams 0 (inactive) 15 5

Cobb has been extremely disappointing in the past three weeks and appears to have been relegated to "just another option" in Green Bay. Jones continues to be a touchdown darling, grabbing his sixth of the year in Week 6.

Minnesota Vikings

NAME WEEK 6 TOTAL AVG
Mike Wallace 9 33 6.6
Kyle Rudolph 5 28 5.6
Stefon Diggs 9 19 9.5
Jarius Wright 3 13 2.6
Charles Johnson 0 (inactive) 8 2.66

The Vikings' pass offense is to be avoided for DFS players. There are no real options here as the Vikings move for efficiency and not explosiveness. Rookie, Stefon Diggs is making some waves with 19 targets in the past two weeks.

New Orleans Saints

NAME WEEK 6 TOTAL AVG
Brandin Cooks 5 45 7.5
Willie Snead 5 38 6.33
Benjamin Watson 12 33 5.5
Mark Ingram 3 30 5
Marques Colston 0 (inactive) 28 5.6

Watson was one of the best performing tight ends in Week 6, turning his 12 targets into a 10-127-1 stat line. The targets are well dispersed in New Orleans, making it hard to identify which player is poised for a big day.

New York Giants

NAME WEEK 6 TOTAL AVG
Odell Beckham Jr. 8 60 10
Larry Donnell 5 35 5.83
Rueben Randle 6 32 5.3
Shane Vereen 4 28 4.66
Dwayne Harris 4 19 3.16

Beckham Jr. is probably the only rosterable choice for DFS players as Randle and Donnell do not provide an established floor or a high ceiling. The Giants' offense clearly needs some work before it can be trusted.

Philadelphia Eagles

NAME WEEK 6 TOTAL AVG
Jordan Matthews 11 56 9.33
Zach Ertz 7 34 5.66
Darren Sproles 2 25 4.16
Riley Cooper 6 23 3.83
Nelson Agholor 0 (inactive) 17 4.25

DeMarco Murray and the defense led the Eagles in Week 6. However, the pass offense seems to be struggling as Matthews and Bradford continue to struggle.

San Francisco 49ers

NAME WEEK 6 TOTAL AVG
Anquan Boldin 9 47 7.83
Torrey Smith 6 35 5.83
Vernon Davis 1 16 4
Quinton Patton 3 16 2.66
Carlos Hyde 2 15 2.5

Boldin has put together back-to-back strong weeks on 21 total targets in Weeks 5 and 6. Ultimately, the passing offense runs through Kaepernick - making it prone to volatility and littered with disappointing days.

Seattle Seahawks

NAME WEEK 6 TOTAL AVG
Jimmy Graham 12 40 6.66
Doug Baldwin 4 31 5.16
Jermaine Kearse 3 26 4.33
Tyler Lockette 2 19 3.16
Marshawn Lynch 0 (inactive) 17 4.25

The biggest thing to note here are Graham's 12 targets, which is what he should be seeing weekly. Aside from Graham, Baldwin, Kearse, and Lockette are not reliable options and are extremely touchdown dependent.

St. Louis Rams

NAME WEEK 6 TOTAL AVG
Jared Cook 0 (BYE) 28 5.5
Tavon Austin 0 (BYE) 25 5
Kenny Britt 0 (BYE) 22 4.4
Stedman Bailey 0 (BYE) 17 3.4

The receivers in St. Louis are hardly worth considering unless you want to take a flyer on Austin or Britt. In Week 7, the Rams host the Cleveland Browns.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

NAME WEEK 6 TOTAL AVG
Vincent Jackson 0 (BYE) 38 7.6
Mike Evans 0 (BYE) 25 5
Charles Sims 0 (BYE) 19 3.8
Louis Murphy 0 (BYE) 17 3.4
Austin Seferian-Jenkins 0 (BYE) 10 5

The passing game in Tampa relies upon the rookie shoulders of Jameis Winston. Evans and Jackson are both decent options, however, they seem to flip-flop on who will be productive on any given week and Evans is still without a touchdown this season.

Washington Redskins

NAME WEEK 6 TOTAL AVG
Pierre Garcon 8 51 8.5
Jamison Crowder 9 37 6.16
Jordan Reed 0 (inactive) 34 8.5
Ryan Grant 4 28 4.66
Andre Roberts 4 15 3

The Redskins desperately need DeSean Jackson and Reed to return from injury as their passing game is going nowhere with Garcon, Crowder, Grant, and Roberts.
