DFS: Week 7 AFC Target Tracker

Chris Humphreys-USA TODAY Sports / Reuters

Here's a team-by-team look at the most targeted players in the AFC through Week 6 (click here for NFC targets):

Baltimore Ravens

NAME WEEK 6 TOTAL AVG
Steve Smith Sr. 10 57 11.4
Kamar Aiken 8 44 7.33
Justin Forsett 8 32 5.33
Marlon Brown 4 23 3.83
Crockett Gillmore 6 19 4.75

For all the criticism the Baltimore receiving corps has received this year, the Ravens rank 11th in the league at 258 yards per game. Aside from Smith Sr. and Aiken, Forsett is a great running back option in PPR formats.

Buffalo Bills

NAME WEEK 6 TOTAL AVG
Charles Clay 13 45 7.5
Percy Harvin 0 (inactive) 30 6
Robert Woods 6 23 3.83
Sammy Watkins 5 18 4.5
Chris Hogan 5 18 3

The Bills take on the Jaguars in London this weekend; it isn't known whether QB Tyrod Taylor or WR Watkins will play. Harvin is already all but ruled out. DFS players should tread carefully.

Cincinnati Bengals

NAME WEEK 6 TOTAL AVG
A.J. Green 7 50 8.3
Tyler Eifert 4 40 6.66
Marvin Jones 12 38 6.33
Mohamed Sanu 4 24 4
Giovani Bernard 2 23 3.83

Green was extremely ineffective on his seven targets in Week 6, catching four balls for 36 yards. Jones had a season high in terms of targets but do not expect that to continue with options like Green and Eifert around.

Cleveland Browns

NAME WEEK 6 TOTAL AVG
Travis Benjamin 13 52 8.66
Gary Barnidge 9 41 6.83
Andrew Hawkins 4 32 5.33
Taylor Gabriel 2 22 3.66
Brian Hartline 3 22 3.66

Barnidge has been a great fantasy play over the past few weeks - and judging by his targets, it seems like he could be here to stay. The Cleveland pass offense ranks 10th in the league - yes, 10th - at 272 yards per game.

Denver Broncos

NAME WEEK 6 TOTAL AVG
Demaryius Thomas 17 75 12.5
Emmanuel Sanders 12 65 10.83
Owen Daniels 3 29 4.83
Jordan Norwood 2 18 3
C.J. Anderson 4 17 2.83

No surprises here with Thomas and Sanders dominating targets and production. Sanders sustained a shoulder injury this week, but has extra time to recover with the Broncos on a bye in Week 7.

Houston Texans

NAME WEEK 6 TOTAL AVG
DeAndre Hopkins 15 89 14.83
Cecil Shorts III 6 45 9
Nate Washington 0 (inactive) 37 9.25
Keith Mumphrey 4 24 4
Arian Foster 6 21 7

Hopkins continues to lead the league in targets and will likely crack 100 next week against Miami. If Washington misses Week 7, expect Hopkins, Shorts, and Foster to handle the workload.

Indianapolis Colts

NAME WEEK 6 TOTAL AVG
T.Y. Hilton 9 59 9.83
Donte Moncrief 11 49 8.16
Andre Johnson 6 33 5.5
Phillip Dorsett 4 21 3.5

The return of Andrew Luck immediately makes Hilton and Moncrief DFS options. On the other hand, Johnson and Dorsett are still for too volatile for cash games and there are better risk-reward options for GPPs.

Jacksonville Jaguars

NAME WEEK 6 TOTAL AVG
Allen Robinson 12 60 10
Allen Hurns 7 43 7.16
Bryan Walters 12 24 4
T.J. Yeldon 0 (inactive) 20 4
Julius Thomas 13 15 7.5

Robinson, Thomas, and Hurns all had touchdowns in Week 6 and are decent DFS options regardless of format because of their reasonable price tags. The Jaguars face a stiff test in Week 7 against the visiting Buffalo Bills.

Kansas City Chiefs

NAME WEEK 6 TOTAL AVG
Jeremy Maclin 4 57 9.5
Travis Kelce 7 41 6.83
Jamaal Charles 0 (inactive) 30 6
Chris Conley 7 18 3
De'Anthony Thomas 1 13 2.16

Maclin went down with a concussion in Week 6, submerging the Kansas City offense. Though Kelce may see even more targets now, he should also see more attention from opposing defenses.

Miami Dolphins

NAME WEEK 6 TOTAL AVG
Jarvis Landry 4 41 8.2
Jordan Cameron 8 36 7.2
Rishard Matthews 6 32 6.4
Greg Jennings 1 19 3.8
Kenny Stills 2 18 3

In what could be the biggest surprise of the week, Landry only saw four targets instead of his usual double-digit numbers. Overall, the Dolphins pass offense should probably be avoided with Lamar Miller back in the mix.

New England Patriots

NAME WEEK 6 TOTAL AVG
Juilan Edelman 10 57 11.4
Rob Gronkowski 5 38 7.6
Dion Lewis 6 36 7.2
Danny Amendola 9 22 4.4

Edelman has had 10+ targets in four of the Patriots' first five games, while Gronkowski has seen just five targets for back-to-back weeks. The Pats take on the division-rival New York Jets in Week 7.

New York Jets

NAME WEEK 6 TOTAL AVG
Brandon Marshall 9 53 10.6
Eric Decker 7 26 6.5
Bilal Powell 1 19 3.8
Chris Owusu 0 (inactive) 9 4.5

Marhsall and Decker continue to be productive, as both caught touchdowns in Week 6. They are excellent cash game options with Marshall being a no-brainer.

Oakland Raiders

NAME WEEK 6 TOTAL AVG
Michael Crabtree 0 (BYE) 48 9.6
Amari Cooper 0 (BYE) 44 8.8
Latavius Murray 0 (BYE) 20 5
Mychal Rivera 0 (BYE) 14 2.8

The Raiders return from the bye week with a road game against the rival San Diego Chargers. The Chargers have one of the best pass defenses in the league and DFS players will really need to mull this one over before rostering Crabtree or Cooper.

Pittsburgh Steelers

NAME WEEK 6 TOTAL AVG
Antonio Brown 8 58 9.66
Darrius Heyward-Bey 1 27 4.5
Heath Miller 1 22 3.66
Markus Wheaton 2 20 3.33
Martavis Bryant 8 8 8

Bryant was the star of the show for Pittsburgh in his return to action, catching six of his eight targets for 137 yards and two touchdowns. Ben Roethlisberger may be back this Sunday, but Week 8 appears to be the safer bet.

San Diego Chargers

NAME WEEK 6 TOTAL AVG
Keenan Allen 15 71 11.83
Danny Woodhead 7 35 5.83
Ladarius Green 4 27 5.4
Antonio Gates 16 27 13.5
Stevie Johnson 0 (inactive) 25 6.25

Allen was in the midst of putting up another monster week until a hip injury forced him from the game in the third quarter. DFS players should take note of Gates' 16 targets and immediately consider rostering him regardless of format.

Tennessee Titans

NAME WEEK 6 TOTAL AVG
Kendall Wright 5 31 6.2
Delanie Walker 10 29 7.25
Harry Douglas 4 23 4.6
Justin Hunter 4 16 3.2
Dorial Green-Beckham 6 11 2.2

As per usual, DFS players should scroll up and away from the Tennessee Titans receiving group. Walker may be an option at tight end but he should also be a significant focus of opposing defenses.
