The 5 biggest moments of the LDS

Nick Turchiaro / USA TODAY Sports

The League Division Series have wrapped up and left us with no shortage of great moments, as the four teams left standing gear up for their League Championship Series.

From clutch home runs and great catches, to controversial takeout slides and bat flips, the league's best provided plenty of highlights, while reaffirming that baseball is at its best in October.

Here's a look at the most talked about plays from the LDS:

WRIGLEY MAGIC

Chicago Cubs rookie Kyle Schwarber continued his torrid streak with his third postseason home run, crushing the ball onto the scoreboard at Wrigley Field in the Game 4 against the St. Louis Cardinals. The Cubs have said the ball will remain on top of the scoreboard for the remainder of the postseason.

KING OF QUEENS

New York Mets outfielder Yoenis Cespedes blew Game 3 open with a mammoth 431-foot blast that put Citi Field into a frenzy. The bat flip provided by Cespedes following the home run was the best of the postseason - at least for two days.

UNCONVENTIONAL RUN

The oddest run likely ever scored in a major-league playoff game saw Texas Rangers' second baseman Rougned Odor score from third after Toronto Blue Jays catcher Russell Martin's tried to toss the ball back to the mound, which deflected off Shin-Soo Choo's bat and into the field during Game 5. Texas would, however, blow the lead minutes later and lose the series.

BREAKING UP IS THE HARDEST PART

Los Angeles Dodgers infielder Chase Utley became this year's postseason villain after breaking the leg of Mets shortstop Ruben Tejada on a hard slide into second base in Game 2. Utley was handed a two-game suspension, though he appealed and has yet to serve any games. The Mets got the last laugh, though, as they knocked the Dodgers off in Game 5 to advance to the NLCS.

Jose Bautista wasn't holding back his emotions after smashing the biggest hit of his 12-year career. The Blue Jays outfielder drove in the eventual game-winning run with his three-run shot in Game 5, propelling his team to the ALCS.
