Litter rained from the stands at the Rogers Centre on Wednesday amid controversy in Game 5 of the American League Division Series.

Spectators sitting in the 500 level threw down garbage, including beer bottles, putting the fans seated below in danger.

The Rogers Centre was sent into an uproar after a call resulted in a run scored by the Texas Rangers in the seventh inning of the showdown.

With Rougned Odor standing on third base, catcher Russell Martin casually threw back to pitcher Aaron Sanchez on the mound, only to have the ball deflect off the bat of Rangers hitter Shin-Soo Choo, allowing Odor to score.

After the play was initially ruled dead, it was changed to a live ball, adding a go-ahead run to the Rangers' tally and creating an 18-minute delay in the contest.
