DFS: Friday's NHL Injury Report

Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports / USA TODAY Sports

Here's a look at the injury situation involving teams in action on Friday:

Arizona Coyotes

The longest-serving member of the Coyotes is questionable for tonight's game against the Kings. Shane Doan did practice on Tuesday so it's reasonable to believe he'll play Friday.

Columbus Blue Jackets

The Jackets will be without depth winger David Clarkson to begin the season. Clarkson struggled the past two seasons in Toronto, but could see some power play time this year in Columbus. He had a career-high eight power play goals back in 2011-12 with New Jersey.

Detroit Red Wings

The Wings will be without Pavel Datsyuk until sometime in November as he heals from an ankle injury. Captain Henrik Zetterberg will center the top line between Justin Abdelkader and highly-touted rookie Dylan Larkin. Brad Richards will center the second line between Tomas Tatar and Gustav Nyquist.

Detroit will also be without speedster Darren Helm and puck-moving defenseman Danny DeKeyser to begin the year as they heal from a concussion and a sprained foot ligament respectively. Helm hopes to play next week whereas DeKeyser could miss close to a month.

New Jersey Devils

Veteran forward Patrick Elias will start the season on the injured reserve list as he deals with a knee injury. There's no timetable for his return, according to head coach John Hynes.

Right winger Kyle Palmieri was hurt in the final preseason game but should be good to go for the opener. He, Mike Cammalleri, Lee Stempniak and Adam Henrique are expected to log top-six minutes on the wing in Elias' absence.

New York Islanders

Islanders net minder Jaroslav Halak is questionable to start. He's practiced for two straight days which is a good sign, but if he can't go, Thomas Greiss will be between the pipes.

In the Clear

The Blackhawks, Kings, Rangers, Maple Leafs and Jets have no injuries that affect the daily fantasy hockey landscape.
