DFS: Dynamic Duos - Thursday's Top DFS Teammate Plays

@HSHScom

Thursday's NHL slate will feature the much anticipated debut of the Pittsburgh Penguins' duo of C Sidney Crosby and W Phil Kessel. The two found instant chemistry in the preseason, and expectations are sky-high for their joint production in 2015-16.

While those two offer the floor and the upside to be a feature stack in both cash games and GPPs, there are several other excellent stack options available that will have a lower ownership percentage.

Here are the dynamic duos to target for Thursday:

Ottawa Senators at Buffalo Sabres

Kyle Turris - Mark Stone

The Turris-Stone stack comes very underpriced for a duo that combined for 50 goals and 128 points in 2014-15. Both Turris and Stone were only outscored by linemate Mike Hoffman last season, and the trio will form the Senators' first line in a matchup against the team that allowed the second-most goals last year.

The duo is familiar with Sabres starter and former Sens backup Robin Lehner, and they'll look to capitalize on weaknesses they learned in practice.

Jonathan Drouin - Steven Stamkos

With the triplets, A.K.A. Tyler Johnson, Ondrej Palat and Nikita Kucherov entering 2015-16 with a much higher pedigree and much higher price tags than they had for much of last season, the slightly contrarian move is to shift back to Stamkos and a sophomore Drouin.

Drouin struggled in his rookie season, but he impressed enough in training camp to earn another crack at a first-line role, and he'll have another shot to live up to his third-overall selection in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.

Carolina Hurricanes at Nashville Predators

Filip Forsberg - James Neal

If the Hurricanes have one quality line, it is their first line, but the Predators have a better one.

Forsberg and Neal are centered by Mike Ribeiro, but the two wingers are both far more likely to find the back of the net than their play-making center. The duo ranked second and fourth on the Preds for shots on goal last season, and if they fire enough in the direction of either Cam Ward or Eddie Lack, they will have success.

Edmonton Oilers at St. Louis Blues

Paul Stastny - Vladimir Tarasenko

Tarasenko is on the brink of becoming a certified member of the NHL's elite, and Stastny is along for the ride to start the season.

It is yet to be seen if Cam Talbot will be the long-awaited answer in net for the Oilers, and elite goal scorers should be readily deployed against him until he proves capable.

Pittsburgh Penguins at Dallas Stars

Evgeni Malkin - Patric Hornqvist

With everyone keyed in on the duo of Kessel and Crosby, it will be important to remember Hornqvist and Malkin are coming off a year in which they totaled 53 goals, despite missing a combined 31 games.

There are plenty of offensive options to choose from in a game that will surely feature a high goal total, and this tandem is far more capable of putting the puck in the net than their ownership will likely dictate.
