DFS: Saturday's Goaltender Value Rankings

Jayne Kamin-Oncea / USA TODAY Sports

Here's a look at theScore's goaltender value rankings for Saturday, October 10:

Value Rankings
C | W | D | G

# NAME OPPONENT RISK
1 Braden Holtby (WAS) vs NJD Low
2 Ben Bishop (TB) at BUF Low
3 Henrik Lundqvist (NYR) vs CBJ Low
4 Petr Mrazek (DET) at CAR Low
5 Marc-Andre Fleury (PIT) at ARI Low
6 Carey Price (MTL) at BOS Low
7 Devan Dubnyk (MIN) vs STL Low
8 Jake Allen (STL) at MIN Low
9 Craig Anderson (OTT) at TOR Low

Holtby has played at an elite level for quite some time now and continues to improve with experience. After coming fourth in the Vezina voting last season, Holtby could challenge the elite tier of Lundqvist and Price, becoming just the sixth active NHL player to win the trophy. He gets a peachy home match-up against the lowly Devils; with nine shutouts last season and a 1.2 GAA average against New Jersey in 2014/2015, this could be a good night to skip the higher-priced options.

# NAME OPPONENT RISK
10 Scott Darling (CHI) vs NYI Medium
11 Pekka Rinne (NSH) at EDM Medium
12 Cam Talbot (EDM) vs NSH Medium
13 Sergei Bobrovsky (CBJ) at NYR Medium
14 Antti Niemi (DAL) at COL Medium
15 Roberto Luongo (FLA) vs PHI Medium
16 Steve Mason (PHI) at FLA Medium
17 Jonas Hiller (CAL) at VAN Medium
18 Ryan Miller (VAN) vs CAL Medium
19 Thomas Greiss (NYI) at CHI Medium
20 Martin Jones (SJS) vs ANA Medium
21 Tuukka Rask (BOS) vs MTL Medium
22 Cam Ward (CAR) vs DET Medium
23 Frederik Anderson (ANA) at SJS Medium
24 Semyon Varlamov (COL) vs DAL Medium
25 Mike Smith (ARI) vs PIT High
26 James Reimer (TOR) vs OTT High
27 Keith Kinkaid (NJ) at WSH High
28 Chad Johnson (BUF) vs TB High

Fatigue isn't an issue this early in the season so few back-up goaltenders will see the ice Saturday. That means that there won't be a ton of obvious mismatches. Just avoid goalies like Johnson, Reimer and Smith who play on teams with awful goal differentials; they lead the pack, without a doubt, of goalies you can live without.

A name to avoid is Rask. He'll come with a hefty price tag considering his status but bears an ugly 3-13-3 record against Montreal for his career - and is no lock to get a win against Price.
