DFS: Week 5 AFC Target Tracker
Here's a team-by-team look at the most targeted players in the AFC through Week 4 (click here for NFC targets):
NAME | WEEK 4 | TOTAL | AVG |
---|---|---|---|
Steve Smith Sr. | 7 | 47 | 11.75 |
Kamar Aiken | 7 | 27 | 6.75 |
Justin Forsett | 1 | 19 | 6.33 |
Crockett Gillmore | 0 (inactive) | 13 | 4.33 |
The Ravens receiving group is in ruins with the injury to Smith. Rookie Breshad Perriman is still unable to play, leaving Aiken, Forsett, and Gillmore as the targets who should expect an increase in use.
NAME | WEEK 4 | TOTAL | AVG |
---|---|---|---|
Charles Clay | 13 | 29 | 7.25 |
Percy Harvin | 8 | 26 | 6.5 |
Sammy Watkins | 0 (inactive) | 13 | 4.33 |
LeSean McCoy | 0 (inactive) | 10 | 3.33 |
Clay was heavily targeted in Week 4 with Watkins out due to a calf injury. Watkins' status for Week 5 is still in question so expect the other receivers to see more targets in the upcoming weeks.
NAME | WEEK 4 | TOTAL | AVG |
---|---|---|---|
A.J. Green | 10 | 35 | 8.75 |
Tyler Eifert | 4 | 24 | 6 |
Marvin Jones | 2 | 18 | 4.5 |
Giovani Bernard | 0 | 13 | 3.25 |
Green saw double digit targets for the second week in a row. The Bengals take on Seattle this week which is bad news for both receivers and running backs.
NAME | WEEK 4 | TOTAL | AVG |
---|---|---|---|
Travis Benjamin | 10 | 27 | 6.75 |
Gary Barnidge | 6 | 22 | 5.5 |
Andrew Hawkins | 3 | 19 | 4.75 |
Taylor Gabriel | 5 | 15 | 3.75 |
Tight end Barnidge has had two great weeks in a row, producing a total of 180 yards and two touchdowns. However, none of the receiving options in Cleveland are real DFS plays unless you are looking to be contrarian.
NAME | WEEK 4 | TOTAL | AVG |
---|---|---|---|
Demaryius Thomas | 12 | 50 | 12.5 |
Emmanuel Sanders | 6 | 41 | 10.25 |
Owen Daniels | 5 | 21 | 5.25 |
C.J. Anderson | 1 | 11 | 2.75 |
Sanders had a season-low six targets in Week 4 while Thomas now has four straight weeks of double-digit targets. Both Thomas and Sanders are great plays in PPR formats.
NAME | WEEK 4 | TOTAL | AVG |
---|---|---|---|
DeAndre Hopkins | 22 | 60 | 15 |
Cecil Shorts III | 10 | 39 | 9.75 |
Nate Washington | 9 | 37 | 9.25 |
Jonathan Grimes | 0 (inactive) | 13 | 4.33 |
Hopkins had a monster 22 targets and has become the most targeted receiver in the league. Like Thomas, Hopkins also had four straight weeks of double-digit targets. Shorts is likely to miss Week 5 so Hopkins and Washington could be in for an even heavier workload.
NAME | WEEK 4 | TOTAL | AVG |
---|---|---|---|
T.Y. Hilton | 13 | 41 | 10.25 |
Donte Moncrief | 9 | 35 | 8.75 |
Dwayne Allen | 0 (inactive) | 6 | 6 |
Andre Johnson | 2 | 20 | 5 |
Without Andrew Luck, Matt Hasselbeck predominantly targeted Hilton and Moncrief in the Colts' 16-13 win over Jacksonville. Veteran Johnson has become a complete non-factor in the Indianapolis offense.
NAME | WEEK 4 | TOTAL | AVG |
---|---|---|---|
Allen Robinson | 12 | 39 | 9.75 |
Allen Hurns | 7 | 28 | 7 |
T.J. Yeldon | 3 | 14 | 3.5 |
Marqise Lee | 0 (inactive) | 6 | 2 |
Though Robinson had 12 targets, he only caught four of them in Week 4. The passing game in Jacksonville runs through Robinson and Hurns making them both legitimate DFS options - especially in games when the Jaguars are forced to pass.
NAME | WEEK 4 | TOTAL | AVG |
---|---|---|---|
Jeremy Maclin | 14 | 41 | 10.25 |
Travis Kelce | 7 | 28 | 7 |
Jamaal Charles | 6 | 26 | 6.5 |
De'Anthony Thomas | 1 | 9 | 2.25 |
The targets in Kansas City are shared, as expected, between Maclin, Kelce, and Charles. Do not expect that to change at any point in the season. Maclin is a solid option in PPR DFS formats and Charles is a great play in all game types.
NAME | WEEK 4 | TOTAL | AVG |
---|---|---|---|
Jarvis Landry | 12 | 37 | 9.25 |
Jordan Cameron | 9 | 28 | 7 |
Rishard Matthews | 3 | 26 | 6.5 |
Greg Jennings | 7 | 18 | 4.5 |
Landry continues to be a target machine in Miami. The biggest surprise for Miami in Week 4 was the no-show from Matthews who had opened the season on a tear.
NAME | WEEK 4 | TOTAL | AVG |
---|---|---|---|
Juilan Edelman | BYE | 42 | 14 |
Rob Gronkowski | BYE | 28 | 8.66 |
Dion Lewis | BYE | 19 | 4.66 |
Aaron Dobson | BYE | 12 | 4 |
Week 4 was a bye week for the Patriots. In Week 5, the Pats head to Dallas.
NAME | WEEK 4 | TOTAL | AVG |
---|---|---|---|
Brandon Marshall | 11 | 44 | 11 |
Eric Decker | 5 | 19 | 6.33 |
Bilali Powell | 1 | 18 | 4.5 |
Chris Owusu | 0 (inactive) | 9 | 4.5 |
Marshall continues to dominate the receiving game in New York, posting three 100+ yard games. The only DFS receiving options for the Jets are Marshall and Decker - so don't try to get creative by going off the board here.
NAME | WEEK 4 | TOTAL | AVG |
---|---|---|---|
Amari Cooper | 9 | 40 | 10 |
Michael Crabtree | 6 | 29 | 9.75 |
Latavius Murray | 5 | 16 | 4 |
Mychal Rivera | 3 | 11 | 2.75 |
Cooper and Crabtree are again the two passing options in Oakland. They dominate the targets and it seems like they will continue to do so throughout the season. Their production will be directly tied to the effectiveness of Derek Carr.
NAME | WEEK 4 | TOTAL | AVG |
---|---|---|---|
Antonio Brown | 9 | 44 | 11 |
Heath Miller | 2 | 18 | 4.5 |
Darrius Heyward-Bey | 5 | 20 | 4 |
Markus Wheaton | 1 | 15 | 3.75 |
All of the receivers take a significant hit with Micahel Vick under center. Brown had a particularly disappointing Week 4 with five catches for 42 yards. DFS players should fade Steelers wideouts for now.
NAME | WEEK 4 | TOTAL | AVG |
---|---|---|---|
Keenan Allen | 7 | 46 | 11.5 |
Stevie Johnson | 8 | 25 | 6.25 |
Danny Woodhead | 4 | 21 | 5.25 |
Ladarius Green | 6 | 18 | 6 |
Tight end Antonio Gates will return in Week 5 and will likely force Green out of this chart. Allen had a quiet performance this past weekend, only securing four of his seven targets in Week 4.
NAME | WEEK 4 | TOTAL | AVG |
---|---|---|---|
Kendall Wright | BYE | 20 | 6.66 |
Delanie Walker | BYE | 13 | 6.5 |
Harry Douglas | BYE | 16 | 5.33 |
Justin Hunter | BYE | 6 | 2 |
The Titans take on Buffalo in Week 5 after having a bye in Week 4. In terms of DFS options, Walker may be the best of the bunch here - and makes for a solid tight end choice overall.
