Report: Clippers add Luc Mbah a Moute on training camp deal

After being passed over by the Sacramento Kings, swingman Luc Mbah a Moute managed to latch on with the Los Angeles Clippers.

The two sides have agreed to a training camp deal, Dan Woike of the Orange County Register reports.

Mbah a Moute agreed to a one-year deal with the Kings earlier this summer, but Sacramento voided the agreement after Mbah a Moute failed his physical due to a shoulder injury.

The last word on the situation suggested that the Kings were still interested in Mbah a Moute, while other reports suggested that the National Basketball Players Association was planning to file a grievance against the Kings on Mbah a Moute's behalf.

Health concerns aside, the 29-year-old still offers some value as a defense-first forward who can guard both wings and bigs. His 3-point shot is wonky at best, which makes him a liability on offense as a perimeter player, but the Clippers could use some added depth on the wing.

Mbah a Moute spent last season with the Philadelphia 76ers where he averaged 9.9 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 1.6 assists in 28.6 minutes per game. He earned $4.4 million as part of a four-year, $19-million contract.
