Oklahoma's Eric Striker doesn't understand hype surrounding SEC
The SEC had a record 10 teams ranked in the top 25 this week, but don't expect Oklahoma linebacker Eric Striker to be impressed.
When asked Tuesday if he gets more jacked up when the Sooners play an SEC team, Striker said he doesn't understand the hype surrounding the conference.
"I don't know why people blow gas up their ass all the time," Striker said, according to Jason Kersey of NewsOK. "I don't understand why."
While the SEC is regarded by many as the nation's strongest conference, Striker has enjoyed success in recent years against some of the country's top programs. Oklahoma beat Alabama in the 2014 Sugar Bowl when Striker sacked AJ McCarron three times. The Sooners also beat Tennessee rather handily last season.
Oklahoma takes on the Volunteers again this week, and another win would go a long way in backing up Striker's statement.
