Klay Thompson concedes brother Trayce may be family's best athlete

For as much as Klay Thompson can get into a major shooting groove, his brother Trayce Thompson may be one-upping him as far as sustained hot streaks go.

Trayce was called up by the Chicago White Sox on Aug. 3, and quickly impressed his NBA champion brother with his first career home run on Aug. 11. He hasn't slowed down since, hitting incredibly well in a part-time outfield role for the Sox.

On Tuesday, Trayce went 3-for-4 and was a home run shy of the cycle, giving him five hits and 11 total bases over his last two appearances. Through 11 games and 25 turns at the dish, the rookie is hitting a robust .522/.560/.957, an impossible pace but one that has his big brother conceding defeat in the family's athletic pecking order.

Having already established himself as a member of one of the best shooting duos of all-time, the "Splash Brother" and his biological brother could be working toward a status as one of the best professional athlete families ever - their father, Mychal Thompson, also played in the NBA.

Despite the torrid start, Trayce has a ways to go before he'll have bragging rights over his older brother. Klay is an established star, while Trayce, a former second-round pick, has yet to turn his considerable power-speed combination into sustained production. But his strong August has probably earned him a longer audition with the club, and he'll always have Klay's admission on social media.
