White Sox call up Trayce Thompson, brother of Warriors star Klay
The biological brother of one of the Golden State Warriors' Splash Brothers is major league bound.
Trayce Thompson, younger brother to Warriors star Klay Thompson, was called up by the Chicago White Sox from Triple-A Charlotte on Monday.
"They're so proud, and I couldn’t be here without them," Trayce said of brothers Klay and Mychal, in speaking with ESPN's Doug Padilla. "They played with me growing up. Even last fall, during the World Series, being in San Francisco, we went and played Wiffle Ball. They still love the game, so it’s been a lot of fun."
Selected in the second round of the 2009 draft by the White Sox, Trayce has hit .260/.304/.441 with 13 home runs, 23 doubles, and 11 stolen bases in 104 minor-league games this year.
The 24-year-old outfielder will be filling in for the injured J.B. Shuck.
