Coming into Saturday's game at the Rogers Centre, Kansas City Royals reliever Wade Davis had not allowed a home run since Ian Desmond of the Washington Nationals hit one out of the park on August 24, 2013.

That streak finally ended after 125 2/3 consecutive innings - and 707 days - as Toronto Blue Jays slugger Jose Bautista launched a shot off Davis to lead off the eighth inning with his second homer of the game.

Davis settled in after that, retiring Edwin Encarnacion, Justin Smoak, and Dioner Navarro to get out of the inning. The solo shot was only the third run allowed by the 29-year-old this season, raising his ERA to an incredible 0.60 in 44 2/3 innings.
