The legal process stemming from the NFL's decision to uphold its four-game suspension imposed on Tom Brady is set to get underway.

The NFLPA will file its appeal on behalf of the New England Patriots quarterback in Minnesota, and is working to do so by Wednesday, according to Jim Trotter of ESPN.

Filing the lawsuit in Minnesota - in the jurisdiction of Judge David Doty - has long been the expected move for Brady and his representation. Doty has issued favorable rulings for players in previous labor cases against the league.

Brady's playing status has been left up in the air despite Tuesday's announcement, as the pending litigation could conceivably stretch well into the regular season, but the union appears to have anticipated such a development.

The NFLPA will ask the judge to either rule by Sept. 4, or issue an injunction that would allow Brady to play until a ruling is made, according to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk.

The NFL reportedly requested a Manhattan court to confirm the suspension, seemingly to dictate the jurisdiction in which the proceedings will take place, but its unclear whether that will impact the NFLPA's efforts in Minnesota.
