Report: Royals interested in Marlins' Martin Prado

The Kansas City Royals are still hard at work.

Hours after acquiring Johnny Cueto, the Royals are reportedly interested in the services of Miami Marlins infielder Martin Prado, according to Fox Sports' Jon Morosi.

Kansas City would have to send cash to Miami in order to get a deal done, Morosi adds.

Prado's the highest-paid Marlins player, earning $11 million this season, and under contract through 2016 at the same amount. Prado signed a four-year, $40-million contract as a member of the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2013, and was subsequently traded to the New York Yankees, who traded him to Miami this past winter. The Yankees are paying $3 million of Prado's salary this season and next, according to Baseball Prospectus.

Prado's batting .273/.312/.369 in 73 games with four home runs and 26 RBIs. His versatility is reportedly what makes him attractive to Kansas City:
