Giants' Victor Cruz: 'I don't think PUP is an option for me'

It's been a bad offseason for the New York Giants on the injury front, but there are some positive signs from one prominent player.

Victor Cruz tore his patellar tendon last year, prompting many believe he was destined to start 2015 on the physically unable to perform list. However, head coach Tom Coughlin recently stated that he didn't believe the receiver would have to go that route and Cruz echoed those statements Tuesday.

"The plan is to be ready for training camp and I feel good," Cruz told SiriusXM NFL Radio. "I don't think PUP is an option for me."

With Will Beatty's torn pectoral and the latest news about Jason Pierre-Paul's fireworks accident, the Giants are in desperate need of some good news. Cruz's prognosis would be just that, as the shifty receiver has yet to play substantially opposite of breakout start Odell Beckham Jr.

If healthy, the pair could form one of the league's most dynamic duos out wide and make life on Eli Manning much easier in 2015.
