Rays' Souza Jr. day-to-day with hand injury after getting HBP

The Tampa Bay Rays have dodged a major injury bullet.
Outfielder Steven Souza Jr. is day-to-day with a right hand contusion after getting hit by a pitch in Sunday's 8-1 victory over the New York Yankees.
X-rays taken on Souza's ailing hand were negative, but he required three stitches because of a deep cut to his pinkie finger, where he also lost feeling.
Souza may miss a game or two depending on the swelling, but it's certainly good news the emerging slugger, who leads the club with 15 home runs, won't be out for long.
