Penguins sign Will O'Neill to 1-year, $575,000 deal

The Pittsburgh Penguins signed defenseman Will O’Neill to a one-year, two-way contract, general manager Jim Rutherford announced Thursday.
The deal carries an average annual value of $575,000 at the NHL level.
O'Neill, 27, ranked fifth among all AHL defenseman with 48 points (10 goals, 38 assists) in 72 games with the St. John’s IceCaps this past season.
He has yet to make his NHL debut.
