Analysis:

Although he's being held out of the lineup, Beltran reportedly felt well enough a day after suffering the the rib-cage injury to take part in some on-field activities. He will be afforded another day of rest with the team off Thursday, but a return for Friday's series opener against Tampa Bay should not be viewed as a lock. Taylor Dugas was brought up to provide the Yankees with some outfield depth.
