Missouri's Harold Brantley released from hospital after car crash
Missouri defensive lineman Harold Brantley has been released from hospital after being treated for injuries sustained in a car crash on June 21, according to Blake Toppmeyer of the Columbia Daily Tribune.
Brantley, a junior, suffered a fracture in his lower left leg, ligament damage in his left knee, and multiple rib fractures in the collision, which occurred south of Columbia, Mo.
He was released from the city's University Hospital over the weekend, hospital staff confirmed.
"Harold is making great progress and is no longer at University Hospital," university spokesman Chad Moller said. "He’s at a different transitional facility now for a few days and is hopeful of being able to go home near the end of this week."
Brantley was travelling with Missouri women's basketball player Maddie Stock when his vehicle slid off the road, hit a guardrail, and overturned.
Neither athletes were wearing seatbelts, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol's accident report.
