Dan Bylsma: Arturs Irbe out as Sabres goaltending coach

Kevin Hoffman / USA TODAY Sports

Ted Nolan's stamp on the Buffalo Sabres has all but been removed.

Arturs Irbe, who Nolan brought on as goaltending coach following their time with the Latvian national team, will not have the opportunity to work with the newly acquired Robin Lehner, as Dan Bylsma announced Monday he won't be retained.

Buffalo's goaltending carousel performed admirably last season, considering the circumstances.

The ragtag group of Jhonas Enroth, Michal Neuvirth, Anders Lindback, Andrey Makarov, and Matt Hackett combined to feature an NHL mean .924 save percentage at even strength.
