Latimer admitted that he struggled learning the playbook last season, which played a role in his limited playing time, but he believes he will be a regular contributor this season under new head coach Gary Kubiak, the Denver Post reports.

Analysis:

Latimer had just two catches on four targets for 23 yards last season, as Andre Caldwell got the extra targets that didn't go to Demaryius Thomas, Emmanuel Sanders, Julius Thomas and Wes Welker, not to mention the running backs. However, Latimer noted that the new playbook is much simpler than last year, which should allow him to pick up plays faster and contribute more. With Welker and Julius Thomas no longer with the team, Latimer is widely expected to take on the No. 3 wideout role, which could be a prolific spot in an offense run by Peyton Manning. He has been running with the first-team offense during minicamp, with Demaryius Thomas holding out for a new deal, which has also helped with his chemistry with Manning.
