Ohio State will lift its ban on Terrelle Pryor for one day to allow him to scrimmage with the team at Ohio Stadium in August, provided he's still on the Cleveland Browns' roster, a team spokesman announced Wednesday.

Pryor received a five-year ban from the school in 2011 for his role in the memorabilia-for-tattoo scandal that led to Jim Tressel resigning as head coach.

"He should be allowed to participate as a member of the Cleveland Browns when they are on campus at Ohio State in August, if he is a member of the team," an Ohio State spokesman confirmed to ESPN on Wednesday. "His participation should be identical to that of all team members, with no special accommodations provided to him due to his Ohio State affiliation."

Scandal aside, Pryor enjoyed a successful career at Ohio State, leading the Buckeyes to a 31-4 record over three seasons.

The Browns claimed Pryor off waivers from the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday and will give him a shot at making the team as a wide receiver.
