The Columbus Blue Jackets have secured Sergei Bobrovsky's backup.

The team signed goaltender Curtis McElhinney to a two-year contract extension, general manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced Wednesday.

The 32-year-old was set to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1.

McElhinney went 12-14-2 with a .914 save percentage and a 2.88 goals-against average in 32 games this season.
