Report: Babcock to meet with Red Wings' Holland on Monday before making decision
Mike Babcock will reportedly give Detroit Red Wings general manager Ken Holland two more opportunities to make a case before the head coach decides on his future.
The pair flew back from the World Hockey Championship in the Czech Republic on Sunday, where they watched Red Wings prospect Dylan Larkin earn a bronze medal with the U.S. national team.
Babcock and Holland planned to discuss the head coach's future on the return flight, then meet again on Monday before Babcock chooses his destination by the middle of the week, TSN's Darren Dreger reports.
The Toronto Maple Leafs and Buffalo Sabres have reportedly filed for permission to receive draft pick compensation in the event they hire Babcock.
On Friday, Babcock said he expects to have his mind made up by May 20.
