The Calgary Flames' season is over after a hard-hitting second-round series, but not all the damage was courtesy of the Anaheim Ducks.

Flames forward Micheal Ferland, who became a popular postseason figure in Calgary with his physical style of play, admitted Tuesday that he suffered a torn oblique in Game 4 of his team's opening-round series against the Vancouver Canucks.

The 23-year-old played through the pain and completed the entire series against the Canucks before being taken out of Game 1 against the Ducks after receiving a couple of rough knocks.

He did make a return for Games 4 and 5 against the Ducks, who eliminated Calgary in five games.

Ferland contributed five points in nine postseason games after earning five points in 26 regular-season contests.
