Report: Cowboys' Jerry Jones hosted La'el Collins at his private residence

Marvin Gentry / USA TODAY Sports

The Dallas Cowboys reportedly pulled out all the stops for their meeting with former LSU offensive tackle La'el Collins on Wednesday night.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones hosted Collins at his private residence and told him that he wants to assemble the greatest offensive line ever, according to Chad Sabadie of FOX 8 in New Orleans. Quarterback Tony Romo and the entire Cowboys offensive line also made their own push for Collins, Sabadie reports

Collins was projected as a first-round pick, but went undrafted after being called in for police questioning over the murder of his pregnant ex-girlfriend. He was never considered a suspect in the case.

The Cowboys were Collins' first official free-agent visit with an NFL team, though he also met with members of the Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins earlier in the week.
