Report: La'el Collins slated to meet with Cowboys
Former LSU offensive tackle La'el Collins is planning to meet with the Dallas Cowboys, according to multiple reports.
Collins was projected to be a first-round pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, but was passed over by every club after he was questioned in connection with the murder of his ex-girlfriend. The 21-year-old was never considered a suspect.
This will be Collins' first official visit with an NFL club, as the LSU product underwent unofficial meetings with members of the Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins earlier in the week. Collins' agent said Tuesday that his client would not be meeting with teams about his professional future.
The Cowboys aren't necessarily the best fit for Collins, already boasting the league's best offensive line. While Collins would likely become an immediate starter on most clubs, he'd be a backup to starting tackles Tyron Smith and Doug Free.
