Canadiens become first team to hit 100-point plateau in OT loss to Predators

Despite losing in the extra-period to the Nashville Predators Tuesday, the Montreal Canadiens became the first team in the league to reach the 100-point plateau.

The single point gained by the Canadiens propelled them in front of the New York Rangers, St. Louis Blues, Tampa Bay Lightning and the Anaheim Ducks who all sit just one point back with 99.

Filip Forsberg scored the winner for the Predators who capitalized with the man advantage in overtime. He was able to put the puck over a sprawled out Carey Price, finishing on a nice cross-ice feed from Mike Ribeiro.

Canadiens defenseman P.K. Subban took a holding penalty midway through the extra period on Colin Wilson, preventing a breakaway after Subban coughed up the puck.

The Rangers have two games in hand on the Canadiens, but for now the team will enjoy being the only club with triple-digit points.
