Southampton manager Ronald Koeman expressed his concern for 'keeper Fraser Forster following his team's victory over Burnley.

The English netminder was forced to leave the match within the first 15 minutes after suffering a nasty-looking knee injury that has the Dutch boss worried about his long-term prognosis.

"Fraser Forster is at hospital and it is looking bad,” Koeman told reporters. "We have to wait for the scan. I hope it will be OK for him but the doctor is not positive."

Kelvin Davis was called to duty Saturday to replace Forster, and performed admirably during Southampton's 2-0 victory.

"It is good to have an experienced goalkeeper on the bench and he showed his qualities today," Koeman said.

There's no telling how long Davis will hold the starting role, but Southampton's Champions League dream could be determined by how much time Forster is forced to miss.

He'll likely continue to undergo tests on the knee to get an accurate timetable for his return.

The English international injured the joint as he attempted to clear the ball out of his box, but appeared to land awkwardly on his left leg during his kicking motion.
