Warriors' Speights receives 1-game ban after pleading no contest to reckless driving
Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports
Golden State Warriors center Marreese Speights was suspended one game without pay after pleading no contest to a reckless driving charge, in violation of Florida state law.
He'll miss Friday's game against the Denver Nuggets.
Speights was originally charged with driving under the influence in August after being pulled over in Tampa. Subsequent tests revealed he had unlawful alcohol content levels.
The 27-year-old has been a key reserve on the Western Conference-best Warriors, averaging a career-high 11 points along with 4.5 rebounds in 16.7 minutes.
