Stars' Seguin 'beyond ahead of schedule' in recovery from knee injury
Tyler Seguin's youthful exuberance seems to be serving him well.
The Dallas Stars center, out since Feb. 13 with a knee injury, is making a speedy recovery and could be back on the ice in the next few days. He's hopeful that he can return to game action in time to help the team make a late push towards a playoff spot.
Seguin addressed his rehabilitation on The Ticket in Dallas on Tuesday, according to Mike Heika of the Dallas News:
We're in crunch mode right now. Obviously, I want to get back in the line-up as soon as I can. There's these knee injections that you do that really help. I'm a young guy, and I think it's that because I'm young I'm responding well. The doctor says that I'm beyond ahead of schedule. So, that's good. I haven't skated yet. But hopefully, that will come in the next few days.
Regardless of when he does return, it may be too little, too late for the Stars - Dallas sits seven points out of a playoff spot with 21 games remaining on the schedule.
Despite missing almost two weeks with the injury, Seguin remains among the NHL's top ten leading scorers, with 59 points in 55 games played.
