Colorado Avalanche head coach Patrick Roy has never been one to restrain himself from pulling his goalie early.
With his team trailing 4-1 to the Nashville Predators on Tuesday, Roy pulled his goalie with his team on the power play in an attempt to cut into the lead.
The gamble, however, backfired.
Predators forward Eric Nystrom corralled the puck and fired it down the length of the ice to increase their lead.
"You don't want to give up," Roy said after the game. "As a coach you always believe in your team and I certainly believed we could come back in that game. Unfortunately for us they scored on that empty net."
