Report: Injury to Bruins' Krejci feared to be long term

Timothy T. Ludwig / USA TODAY Sports

The Boston Bruins could be without one of their top players for a good chunk of the remainder of the regular season.

David Krejci, who left Friday's game against the St. Louis Blues with an apparent knee injury, is set to be re-evaluated after the club returned from a five-game road trip.

The injury is feared to be a long-term issue that could keep him out for a number of games down the stretch, according to Nick Kypreos of Sportsnet.

The center's season has been limited to 38 games due to various injuries, but he's recorded 26 points and remains one of the club's key players.

While Boston managed a 6-2 victory Sunday over the Chicago Blackhawks, the loss of Krejci for an extended period could loosen their relatively tenuous hold on playoff spot.
