Blues' Shattenkirk to have abdominal surgery, will be week-to-week

St. Louis Blues defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk will undergo abdominal surgery in the next 7-10 days and will be listed as week-to-week after the procedure, the club announced.

Shattenkirk left Sunday's win over the Washington Capitals after colliding with Alex Ovechkin in the first period.

The blue-liner participated in his first All-Star Game in January. He's posted 40 points in 49 games, leading all defensemen with 32 assists and 24 power-play points.
