Ryan Johansen selected 1st by Team Foligno at All-Star fantasy draft
Nick Foligno kept things local at the 2015 NHL All-Star fantasy draft by selecting his Columbus Blue Jackets teammate Ryan Johansen with the first overall pick.
Johansen and Foligno lead the Blue Jackets in scoring with 43 and 42 points, respectively. Both players are making their first career All-Star appearances.
Team Foligno kept their second and picks close as well, with alternate captains Patrick Kane and Drew Doughty selecting their respective teammates: Duncan Keith and Anze Kopitar.
Jonathan Toews responded by selecting Phil Kessel first before taking a shot at the turmoil surrounding the Toronto Maple Leafs during his explanation.
"He's one of the most coachable players out there," Toews joked about Kessel, referring to the notion that Toronto's players are uncoachable after the team fired Randy Carlyle.
Team Toews was the first to select a goaltender, picking teammate Corey Crawford.
Foligno and Toews shook things up late in the draft by trading Kessel for Tyler Seguin, mimicking the trade that landed Kessel in Toronto from the Boston Bruins.
Both Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Filip Forsberg won a Honda Accord as the final two picks in the draft.
