The Arizona Coyotes have wisely allowed the market to dictate the going rate for forward Antoine Vermette.
With upwards of seven teams having shown interest, the Coyotes are expected to command a first-round pick and either a prospect or young player in exchange for the two-way center, Bob McKenzie reported Thursday on TSN's "Insider Trading."
McKenzie indicates that the Anaheim Ducks, Chicago Blackhawks, Montreal Canadiens and St. Louis Blues, among others, have shown interest in the pending unrestricted free agent leading up to the March 2 trade deadline.
However, teams such as the New York Rangers will pull out of the running, per McKenzie, should Vermette indicate a desire to test the open market this summer.
