American Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps pleaded guilty to driving under the influence in Baltimore, Md., on Friday, according to the Associated Press.

Phelps, 29, was arrested on Sept. 30. Documents show he was stopped for speeding and crossing the double yellow line while driving in the Fort McHenry Tunnel. Police say Phelps registered a .14 percent on a blood-alcohol test. The legal limit is .08 percent in Maryland.

Phelps won't serve any jail time and will be on probation for a year and a half.

He told the judge in court:

For me doing the 45-day program I was able to find out a lot about myself. I know I have the tools to move forward, to move past this ... I will continue to grow, and I will help other people to not make this mistake ... I'm looking forward to a bright future.

An 18-time Olympic gold medalist, Phelps - who pleaded guilty to drunk driving in 2004 - was suspended for six months by USA Swimming after his latest run-in with the law.

The most decorated Olympian in history, Phelps came out of retirement before his latest arrest with his sights on the 2016 Olympics in Rio.
